Angela MacRae BA (Hons), MCom (Hons), FCPA, was appointed as a part-time Commissioner with the Productivity Commission in March 2007. Angela is currently working on the commissioned inquiry examining Default Superannuation Funds in Modern Awards.

Angela has worked as an economic consultant with a primary focus throughout her career on taxation and superannuation issues and their practical application to the private and public sector. In more recent years, she has worked on issues relating to small to medium sized businesses.

Angela's early career was spent in the Departments of Treasury and Prime Minister and Cabinet and the New Zealand Treasury. In the lead up to the tax reforms of 2000, she was the tax reform spokesperson and National Tax Director for CPA Australia. Subsequent to the implementation of GST and PAYG, Angela was contracted to the Prime Minister's Office to assist in tax reform implementation. In 2003 she was awarded the Centenery Medal for service to Australian Society and to tax reform.

Angela was a member of the Taskforce on Reducing Regulatory Burdens on Business (external link), which reported to the Prime Minister and Treasurer in 2006.
