Changing text size
To make web pages easier to read, most browsers allow you to change the size of text. The following procedures explain how to change text size in some of the major browsers.
Internet Explorer
- Open the View menu
- Choose Text Size
- Select a text size option - Medium is the default size.
Mozilla Firefox
- Open the View menu
- To affect text only, choose Zoom Text Only
- Open the View menu again, choose Zoom In or Zoom Out.
Select Reset to return text to default size.
Other browsers, such as Opera and Safari, have similar features. Please consult your browser's help menu for assistance.
Magnifying web pages (Zoom)
The procedures for changing the text size will not affect the size of images and controls. To change the size of everything, some browsers have a zoom feature. The following procedures explain how to zoom in some of the major browsers.
Internet Explorer
- On the bottom right corner of the browser, click the arrow to the right of the Change Zoom Level button
- Choose one of the percentage options.
If your mouse has a wheel, hold down the CTRL (or COMMAND) key, and then scroll the wheel to zoom in or out.
Using your keyboard, press CTRL (or COMMAND) and + or CTRL (or COMMAND) and - to zoom in or out.
Mozilla Firefox
- Open the View menu
- Ensure Zoom Text Only is not selected
- Open the View menu again, choose Zoom In or Zoom Out.
If your mouse has a wheel, hold down the CTRL (or COMMAND) key, and then scroll the wheel to zoom in or out.
Select Reset to return text to default size.
