The Commission provides assistance to make it easier for you to start your career with us, along with many other benefits, including:
- employer funded superannuation scheme;
- recreation leave, long service leave, personal leave, maternity leave, and special leave; and
- study assistance.
Assistance on Commencement
If you need help moving to Melbourne or Canberra when you commence, the Commission can help you to travel, move furniture and belongings, and can assist you with temporary accommodation. All travel assistance covers appointee and dependents.
Travel - If you drive to Melbourne or Canberra we will pay for petrol expenses plus reimburse accommodation and meals in transit. If you fly, we will pay for your airfare.
Accommodation Expenses - Depending on your interstate or overseas accommodation prior to appointment, we may pay your temporary accommodation expenses.
Transport of Furniture and Personal Effects - For those required to move from interstate or overseas, furniture and personal effects will be uplifted and transported at our expense and can be held in storage pending permanent accommodation.
Other
Superannuation - Employer funded superannuation contribution of approximately 15%.
Recreation Leave - 20 days paid leave each year that can be used as it is accummulated.
Long Service Leave - 3 months paid leave or 6 months half paid leave after 10 years service.
Study Assistance Paid leave and financial assistance is available for approved studies. (The Commission encourages staff to pursue further studies.)
Special Leave - Up to three days paid leave per year for such things as moving accommodation, graduation ceremonies or household emergencies.
Maternity Leave - After 12 months service 14 weeks paid leave and an option for additional leave (paid or unpaid) to a maximum of 52 weeks absence.
Personal Leave - 15 days paid leave per year, which is cumulative.
Flexible Hours of Service - Employees negotiate their actual times of work with their supervisor based on a standard week of 37 hours and 30 minutes. Additional hours worked may be taken as time in lieu. Overtime may be paid in some situations.
