Indigenous reporting

The Steering Committee for the Review of Government Service Provision, established by the Council of Australian Governments (COAG), produces four streams of Indigenous reporting. These reports, listed below, contribute to a better understanding of the disadvantage that limits the opportunities and choices of many Indigenous people, and assist governments to assess the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of government services to Indigenous Australians.

The Productivity Commission provides secretariat support to the Steering Committee.

Indigenous Expenditure Report

This reporting series provides comprehensive and comparable information on the expenditure for both Indigenous specific services and the estimated Indigenous share of mainstream services by the Australian, State and Territory governments.

Overcoming Indigenous Disadvantage

This reporting series provides information about the disparities in outcomes across a range of strategic areas and examines whether policies and programs are achieving positive outcomes for Indigenous Australians.

Report on Government Services: Indigenous Compendium

The compendiums bring together all Indigenous data contained within the Report on Government Services, and reports on the overall efficiency and effectiveness of government service delivery and aids in promoting ongoing performance improvement.

National Indigenous Reform Agreement performance report

This report, produced for the COAG Reform Council, collates performance data on the objectives, outcomes, output and performance measures that all governments have committed to in order to achieve the six COAG Closing the Gap targets.
