The Commission undertakes performance monitoring and related research on government trading enterprises (GTEs) which continues work the Commission previously undertook for the former COAG Steering Committee on National Performance Monitoring of Government Trading Enterprises.

The present series of reports focuses on financial performance and is undertaken with the co-operation of the Australian, State and Territory Governments. It forms part of the Commission's research into the performance of Australian industries and the progress of microeconomic reform.
