Integrated Tariff Analysis System (ITAS)

Sectoral Results

Summary data for tariffs faced by (industrial) Australian exports, grouped by commodity type, for each country included in ITAS are presented. Summary figures are presented for the initial tariffs and final tariffs for ten different tariff reduction scenarios.

Output for all industrial items and high tariff items is presented. High tariff items are products for which the post–Uruguay applied rate is greater than 15 per cent. Summary figures included are:

  • Average and maximum bound tariff rates (presented using both the Girard and non-Girard treatment of missing bound rates [see glossary], and using both the maximum and average rates across importing countries);
  • Average and maximum applied tariff rates;
  • Average percentage changes in bound tariff rates;
  • Average percentage changes in applied tariff rates; and
  • Average percentage price changes in the power of applied tariff rates (this is a measure of the percentage change in the duty-paid price).

Percentage change variables show percentage changes of final from initial levels. Output variables are defined within these output files.
