An Integrated Tariff Analysis System: Software and Database, was released in November 2005. This paper provides an overview of the structure of ITAS by:
- describing the raw data on tariffs and explaining how these data are converted into a form suitable for multi-country analysis of tariffs;
- outlining several formulas and explaining how they are used to calculate final tariff rates from initial rates;
- describing the resulting tariff data created by ITAS and the data summaries available; and
- outlining some ways in which ITAS could be extended.
