About the role

The Productivity Commission has an opportunity for an experienced Assistant Director, Finance to join our Melbourne office.

Working in a small team and reporting to the Director, Finance, you will play a pivotal role in providing strategic financial advice and management reporting for the Commission. You will also help manage the day-to-day operations of the Finance team and provide advice, guidance and supervision to team members.

This is a hands-on role where you will help to prepare key operational policies and internal budgets, and produce strategic, insightful financial reporting that identifies pressures, risks and opportunities to support decision making.

We are looking for someone who has working knowledge of the Australian Government financial framework and budget process, strong knowledge of financial management skills, problem-solving abilities and well-developed communication, organisational and planning skills.

Applicants must hold an Accounting/Finance degree and be a Certified Practicing Accountant or Charted Accountant. Previous experience applying the Commonwealth Government financial management framework will be highly regarded.

*A merit pool of suitable candidates may be established and may be used to fill similar vacancies either on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis.
