A PC internship gives you hands-on paid work experience solving real-world policy problems.

Applications are now open and close on 9 August 2026, for work over the 2027 summer break.

What we offer

This program gives you:

paid work experience over a 6-week placement
the opportunity to help develop advice to the Australian Government on public policy issues
a competitive salary (equivalent to $70,477 + 15.4% superannuation per annum)
an open, friendly and inclusive team-based environment
a potential pathway to the Graduate Program (noting a separate, merit-based recruitment process will apply for ongoing Graduate positions).

To be eligible, applicants must:

be an Australian citizen at the time they apply
be willing to undergo a security and character clearance (which may include completing an identity verification check and police check)
provide evidence of progress towards mandatory qualifications in the specified field
have completed at least 2 years of their degree by end of 2026
be available for work between 4 January – 12 February 2027
be willing to work in Melbourne or Canberra for the duration of the contract.
