Healthy ecosystems: Case studies on smarter policy design

Commission research

This project will highlight opportunities to support the health of Australia's ecosystems through policy reform.

The first case study will examine how governments can improve regulatory settings to enable the use of nature-based solutions.

Nature-based solutions are actions that protect, manage or restore ecosystems in ways that provide benefits to communities and ecosystems at the same time (such as flood mitigation, reduced coastal erosion, improved water quality, and recreational benefits).
