The Productivity Commission (PC) welcomes the opportunity to make this submission to the Senate Education and Employment Legislation Committee inquiry into the Fair Work Amendment (Right to Work from Home) Bill 2025 (FW Amendment Bill).
The PC published a research paper on working from home in September 2021. Since that time, it has monitored developments in the research and policy landscape relating to working from home. This submission draws on our research paper and other recent literature and data.
The PC provided the submission to the review on 23 January 2026 and it was published on our website on 2 February 2026.
