Expenditure on children in the Northern Territory
What we’ve been asked to look at The Australian Government asked the Productivity Commission to conduct a study into government expenditure in the Northern Territory on children and family services aimed at preventing harm to children. The Commission looked at what family and children services are being funded in the Northern Territory and how decisions about expenditure are being made. We examined ways to improve these funding arrangements and the services they deliver. The study commenced on 1 April 2019. We consulted widely, including with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander groups and the community sector.
We are unable to make findings or recommendations about individual circumstances, nor can we provide advice. If you need help, there are a number of services available which can provide support, wherever you are in the Northern Territory.
