We have compiled answers to frequently asked questions about this Inquiry and will update this page as needed.
‘Water services’ in this inquiry refers to water, wastewater and stormwater services provided to households and businesses across urban, regional and remote areas. These services are mostly (but not exclusively) provided by government-owned utilities, and/or local governments. This inquiry is not focusing on bulk water services for rural water use (including irrigation).
No. This inquiry is not reviewing the draft National Water Agreement (NWA). The PC will make recommendations on how to support a more sustainable water services industry, based on what we have been requested to cover in the terms of reference. In developing recommendations, the PC will consider the broader policy context, including relevant developments relating to the NWA.
