The Australian Government Competitive Neutrality Complaints Office (AGCNCO) received two complaints alleging that Australian Hearing is engaging in anticompetitive behaviour in the voucher services market, and enjoys market advantages over its competitors as a result of its government ownership.
The AGCNCO found most of the competitive neutrality concerns to be unsubstantiated. Australian Hearing, with a minor exception, is complying with its competitive neutrality obligations.
Other government entities are also generally treating Australian Hearing in a manner consistent with competitive neutrality, but some areas of government are providing a minor unfair competitive advantage to Australian Hearing. The AGCNCO recommended changes to address these.
