Performance benchmarking of Australian business regulation: Feasibility
Commissioned study
The first stage of this study has concluded. The research report was released on 6 March 2007. On 13 April 2007 COAG considered the Commission's report and agreed to proceed to the second stage.
The Productivity Commission was requested to develop a range of feasible quantitative and qualitative indicators and reporting framework options for an ongoing assessment and comparison of the burden of regulation on business.
In developing these options, the Commission provided information on the availability of data and approximate costs of data collection, collation, indicator estimation and assessment.
