Transitioning regional economies

Public forums

The Commission hosted public forums to provide participants with the opportunity to express their views on the transition of regional economies.

Communities are adjusting to transitional pressures, such as the slowing of the resources construction boom, changes in government policies, advances in technology and the closure of large businesses that are major employers in the region.

The Commission was interested in hearing from local members of the community, businesses and organisations about both their experiences and the factors that influence their capacity to adapt to changes in economic circumstances.

Interested participants were invited to register to attend a public forum to discuss their experiences and the transitional pressures their community is facing.
